Let’s take a minute to reflect on our time at CLU – two years, three years, four years, maybe even five years? We’ve seen:
2 university presidential inaugurations
A historic US presidential election
Hot off the Grill perfected at the caf
The invention of the snuggie
Borderline closing
Borderline reopening
Security segways
SCIAC Championships for the Kingsmen in Football, Golf, Basketball, and Soccer, and for the Regals in Water Polo.
Britney Spears shaving her head, still looking fabulous, and making a comeback
We’ve responded to three major natural disasters – the Indonesian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the recent earthquake in Haiti
The expansion of North campus to include the Samuelson Aquatic Center, Sparky Anderson Field and Hutton Field
A student section painted purple in Mt. Clef Stadium
The completion of Trinity Hall and the groundbreaking of the Swenson Center
What will happen in the next 100 days? We can’t know, but we’ll be doing it together. May this be a night of celebration and reflection on our accomplishment of being seniors.
Please join us in a word of prayer: Gracious God, we come to you tonight unsure of what our future holds, but we are confident that you will provide the guidance we seek. Thank you for the people in this room, this university we call home, and for helping us get to where we are today. Give us the courage to walk across that stage. Strengthen us and keep us in your grace. Amen.
