It makes sense that in college, people who throw huge parties want more girls than guys to be there. Girls are pretty. And, more importantly, tend to drink less. If you bought a keg, you'd rather a bunch of girls were there having a few beers than a bunch of guys having ten.
But at a bar, you'd think it would be the reverse. As each person who enters your bar must pay for their drinks, you think that smart bartenders would like to have more men as patrons, as those men will be buying more drinks and spending more money than their female counterparts.
And yet, tonight, at the Saloon's Dirty Monday (at which I am not currently present), just like every other Monday, there are a fraction of the amount of women waiting to get in as there are men. This seems to be a counter-intuitive business practice.
This is just something I was thinking about.
