Tell them it gets better.

In the last month, there have been five gay teens who were bullied into such disconsolation that their only respite was in suicide.

I am ashamed to be a member of a society that allows this to happen.

Have we lost all sense of sociocentrism? Have we lost all love for neighbor? Are we so consumed by our own social location that we will burden anyone weak enough to break? This is inexcusable.

The voices of these five boys -- Seth, Tyler, Asher, Billy, and Raymond -- were silenced. There are thousands of others just like them who are looking at their choices and weighing their own options. It is imperative that we, as a nation, show these children that there is hope. That they are not alone.

Please do something to stop this. Tell them it gets better.
