The other night, I was in the car with Fletcher, his mom, and my parents. The details of how we got into a conversation about Star Wars are now fuzzy, but I hope you will be as incredulous as I was that FLETCHER AND HIS MOM HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF THE STAR WARS FILMS! And my Dad has only seen the first one. [Note that I am of course only talking about the original trilogy, and Episodes 1, 2, 3 are NOT valid Star Wars films.]
What is wrong with these people? Star Wars are the most iconic films of all time! I really don't understand how you can go through American life without them. How many cultural references are you missing? How many jokes did you never understand? Star Wars are so pervasive in popular culture -- you'd really be surprised.
Anyway, there's not much more to say other than that I am appalled.
If you haven't seen Star Wars, please go rent them. Or borrow mine!
