It's interesting that we now talk about the evils of the world in terms of "post-Holocaust" and "post-2001" as though they've changed. As though this evil hasn't been simply lying dormant in our religious intolerance and hateful education. All of this "holy war" bullshit would be so easily alleviated if we could teach our children to love their neighbors. And not just their Christian neighbors. But their Muslim neighbors. And their Jewish neighbors. And their non-religious neighbors. We need to cease to see each other as threats and start seeing each other as opportunities for growth and development and love.
